Welcome to our farm blog! This blog is going to be a place where we can learn and grow together on various homesteading topics. Whether it be about raw milk, goats, gardening, chickens or milk products, there will be some teaching and sharing as I talk about our journey on how we live. I want this to be a dynamic environment where we can share ideas and help eachother learn about shared topics of interest.
Our farm has been raising Nigerian Dwarf goats for 8 years and we have been consuming their milk for almost 6 of those years. We have made a lot of mistakes along the way and would like to think that we know what we are doing, but we are always learning new things to make what we do on the farm easier or more efficient. We finally have an abundance of milk and have been enjoying trying new things with it. It has been a remarkable superfood for our youngest child who had a lot of allergy issues when she was younger and just thrives on the raw milk.
Next week will be our first blog post about a specific topic which will include a how to video. I thought that I would start with something that would appeal to a vast majority of people and one I get asked about all the time…homemade Greek yogurt!
